Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 5, 2026
This policy applies to the Voice2Sub website and desktop app. We keep data collection limited to what is needed for downloads, licensing, payment transactions, support, security and website operation.
1. Local media processing
Voice2Sub is designed to process imported video and audio on your own computer. The website does not require you to upload media files to create subtitles.
Voice2Sub does not upload your imported audio/video files, generated transcripts, subtitle text, local file names or local file paths to our servers as part of normal subtitle generation. If you manually include such information in a support email or feedback message, we receive only what you choose to send.
2. Information we may collect
- Email address: used to reply to messages, deliver app-related communication, send activation codes or identify a payment transaction.
- Payment and transaction data: handled by payment providers and banking services. Voice2Sub does not store card numbers.
- Download analytics: when you click a download link, we may record a limited download analytics event such as platform, page, locale, approximate country code, referrer, timestamp, download channel, build and version. These events may be stored in Google Forms/Sheets for internal analytics. We do not collect media files, local file names, local file paths, transcripts, subtitle text or audio/video content through download analytics.
- Desktop app license activation: when you activate, validate or deactivate a license in the desktop app, the app may send your license key, a device identifier generated by the app, activation instance information, activation/deactivation status, license expiration/status and basic request metadata to Voice2Sub servers and/or our license provider. This is used to verify the license, prevent abuse, enforce activation limits and provide Pro access.
- Messages you send: if you contact us, we receive the information included in your message. In-app feedback, when you choose to send it, is submitted through Google Forms. Please do not include sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for support.
- Security and service data: payment-related pages may use services such as Firebase and Cloudflare Turnstile to verify requests, protect the service and monitor payment status.
- Local website preferences: the website may store simple browser preferences, such as language suggestion state, on your device.
3. Local desktop app data
The desktop app may store settings, downloaded AI models, license state, local usage/quota state, update information and local diagnostic logs on your device. These files are used to run the app, remember settings, support offline/local workflows and manage license status. They are not uploaded to Voice2Sub unless you choose to send information to us for support or feedback.
4. Internet connections from the desktop app
Voice2Sub processes imported media locally on your device, but some features may require an internet connection, including license activation/validation, update checks, update downloads, optional model downloads, optional CUDA support downloads, trusted time checks and feedback that you choose to submit.
5. How we use information
We use information to provide downloads, process payment transactions, deliver activation codes, validate Pro access, prevent abuse, answer messages, improve reliability and maintain the website and app.
6. Third-party services
Third-party services we may use include payment providers and banking services, Lemon Squeezy for license/payment-related workflows where applicable, Google Forms/Sheets for feedback or download analytics, Firebase for transaction status updates, Cloudflare/Turnstile for security and abuse prevention, Hugging Face for optional AI model downloads, Microsoft Store for Store distribution, email providers, trusted time API providers where applicable, and infrastructure/CDN providers used to deliver the website, app downloads and updates.
7. Retention
License, transaction and support records may be kept for as long as needed to provide access, handle disputes, prevent fraud, meet accounting/legal requirements and support users. Feedback and support messages are kept until handled or while useful for support history. Local app data remains on your device unless you delete it or uninstall the app according to your operating system’s behavior.
8. Your choices
You can choose not to make a payment, not to contact us, not to send in-app feedback or not to use optional downloads. You may contact us to request access, correction or deletion where applicable.
9. Changes
We may update this policy when the website, app, licensing or payment flow changes. The latest version will be posted on this page.
